God is Speaking... Are You Listening?

October 31, 2025

“Listen for God’s voice in everything you do and everywhere you go. He’s the one who will keep you on track.” — Proverbs 3:6 (MSG)

Jesus once said to a crowd gathered around him, “Whoever has ears to hear, let them hear” (Luke 8:8 NIV). He wasn’t talking about physical hearing—he was talking about spiritual listening. He wanted his followers to tune their hearts to God’s voice.

The same is true for you. God wants to speak to you—and he does. The question is: are you taking time to listen?

Communication is the foundation of every relationship, and that includes your relationship with God. If you never talk to him or listen for his voice, you may know about God, but you don’t truly know him. Real relationship happens when you spend time together—when you speak, listen, and share life.

When you start listening for his direction, you’ll discover that he often gives simple, clear warnings: “Wait.” “Don’t.” “Go.” “Trust me.” Even a whisper from God can save you from regret, confusion, and wasted effort.

When you listen to God, it not only protects you—it also leads you to real success. But God’s definition of success looks different from the world’s. It’s not measured by money, popularity, or power. True success is becoming exactly who God made you to be. It’s living out his unique plan for your life.

Psalm 32:8 says, “I will guide you along the best pathway for your life. I will advise you and watch over you” (NLT).

Notice that word—best. God doesn’t settle for average paths or second-best plans. He wants to lead you along the best possible route for your life—one that’s tailor-made for who he created you to be. What’s best for someone else may not be best for you, and that’s okay. God’s plan for you is personal.

Jesus said, “My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me” (John 10:27 NLT).

That’s what it means to live close to your Shepherd. You recognize his voice, trust his direction, and follow his lead—even when the path ahead isn’t fully clear.

So today, take time to quiet your heart and listen. God is speaking—you just have to make space to hear him.
