God's Love Can Refuel Your Tired Heart

Refueling Your Love Tank

“Love never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful, and endures through every circumstance.” —1 Corinthians 13:7 (NLT)

Let’s be honest—loving other people can be exhausting. Real love, I mean. The kind that endures through hard times, other’s needs and complications and shortcomings.

Maybe, this Valentine’s Day… you feel pretty empty. Maybe loving the people in your life feels tiring.

Maybe you work in a people-intensive job—teaching, sales, customer service—and you come home thinking, I can’t face one more need, one more problem, one more heartache.

Or maybe there’s a specific person in your life who constantly takes, rarely gives back, acts selfishly, and seems impossible to please.

What does God tell us to do when we are called to love difficult people or love people through difficult circumstances? Well, scripture says, “Love never gives up.” It doesn’t quit when things get hard. It doesn’t walk away when it’s tired. It keeps showing up.

So how do you love like that? YOU have to stay filled up. How? You refuel YOUR love tank.

If you want to love with endurance, you have to refill your tank. Look around, and you’ll see the wreckage of relationships everywhere—crashed and burned because people tried to keep going without refueling.

So how do you refuel your love tank? You start by letting God love you. This is GOOD NEWS. This means, the love in your love tank isn’t dependent on another person. If they don’t refuel you, you can still stay filled up.

Because, your Heavenly Father can love you perfectly. His love for you never runs out. His love for you unconditional.

“We love because he first loved us.” (1 John 4:19 NIV).

When you’re worn out, discouraged, or can’t imagine giving one more ounce of love, remember this: God loved you so much that He sent His Son to die for you.

That’s real fuel.

That’s what carries you when you feel empty.

That’s a love that can sustain you even in the darkest valleys.

That’s what strengthens you when you want to quit.

You don’t love others out of your own limited supply—you love them out of God’s endless supply.

So today, if you’re tired, take time to receive His love again. Let Him refill your heart. Then go back out and love—not in your strength, but in His. I hope you have a Happy Valentine's Day. Go into this weekend knowing that you are fully loved by your creator. That's a reason to celebrate.
