The Bible says in 1 Peter 4:12, “Dear
friends, don’t be bewildered or surprised when you go through the fiery
trials ahead, for this is no strange, unusual thing that is going to
happen to you” (TLB).
Basically,
life can be HARD. The Bible tells us that, in this world, there will be
times of trial and testing. It’s guaranteed! Since sin entered the
world, nothing works perfectly. Everything on this planet is broken—the
weather, the economy, your body, and even your best plans. Nothing works
perfectly in this life because sin broke everything on Earth.
Okay, so life is hard. Now what? How do we continue on, knowing life will have trouble and feel at peace?
Look, I don’t know what trouble you’re going through right now, but I can tell you three things about the trouble you’re facing:
”We can rejoice, too, when we run into problems and trials, for we know that they help us develop endurance” (Romans 5:3 NLT).
Alright, you might be thinking, “Really? Rejoice for my sufferings?”
But, the thing is, whether you have God in your life or not, you will go
through hard times and some sufferings.
But, when you DO have God in your life, he can bring good out of your
troubles. He doesn’t waste your hurt. He has promised us an eternity
where suffering no longer exists through his grace and his son Jesus
Christ. THAT is worth rejoicing.
“Weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning.” (Psalm 30:5, MEV)
