Yesterday we looked at 10 incredible benefits of God’s grace in our lives. But as you read through them, maybe a question stirred in your heart: How do I actually receive that kind of grace?
It would be heartbreaking to discover all that God wants to do in your life through His grace—and yet never accept it for yourself. Thankfully, the Bible makes it very clear and very simple.
You don’t need a complicated formula. You don’t need to earn a theology degree. You don’t need a list of spiritual rituals. The answer is only three words long: By trusting Christ and following Him.
John 1:17 reminds us, “For the law was given through Moses, but God’s unfailing love and faithfulness came through Jesus Christ.”
Grace isn’t found in religion, in rules, or in trying harder. Grace is found in a person—Jesus. When you put your trust in Him, His grace becomes yours.
God’s grace is free, but it’s not cheap. It’s the most valuable gift ever offered, and it cost Jesus His very life. On the cross, He purchased grace for you and me—and in doing so, He accomplished three life-changing victories:
1. Grace paid the penalty for sin.
Someone had to pay the price for our sin. Jesus did it willingly, so we could be forgiven completely.
2. Grace broke the power of sin.
Through His death and resurrection, Jesus gives you the power to be set free from the habits, hurts, and hang-ups that once held you captive.
3. Grace will one day remove the presence of sin.
For those who belong to Christ, heaven is our promised home—a place where sin and suffering will never again exist.
That’s the power of God’s grace. It covers your past, empowers your present, and secures your future. The only step left is yours: to accept it.
If you’ve never trusted Jesus with your life, today can be the day. Pray and tell Him you want His grace to cover you, change you, and lead you. If you already know Him, take a moment to thank Him for the costly gift of grace—and share that gift with someone else who needs it.
