Making Jesus Lord of Your Life

March 1, 2024

The statement “Jesus is Lord” means that Jesus is God. Jesus has all authority in heaven and on earth. “And Jesus came and said to them, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me.” (Matthew 28:18).

And, Jesus IS Lord. “for he is Lord of lords and King of kings, and those with him are called and chosen and faithful.” (Revelation 17:14)

But, one thing about Jesus is that he will never force himself to be a part of your life. He is Lord, there is no disputing who he is, but is he Lord of your life?

You have to choose whether or not you are going to make Jesus the Lord over your life. To turn over your past, your present and your future to him. Are you going to be the ruler of your life? Or, are you going to surrender control over to Him?

When I choose to allow Jesus to be Lord of my life It means he is my master. He is my boss. He is in control of everything in my life. He’s not just resident in my life; he is president. When I say, “Jesus is my Lord,” I’m saying, “Jesus is the CEO of my life. He’s the chairman of the board of my life. He’s calling the shots. He is my manager. He is my director. He is my God.”

I’m no longer the Lord of my life. I’m not calling the shots any more. He’s calling them. He’s the boss of my life. I’m not the boss of my life.

Until you do that, you’re the lord of your life. And by the way, how’s that working for you? You calling all the shots in your life? You being the master of your fate? Totally fulfilled?

You weren’t meant to be God. And the reason you get under stress is when you try to play God in your life. You get stressed out because you don’t have the power to change things; God does.

Jesus makes an INCREDIBLE Lord of your life. He can be trusted to lead you to a life of meaning and abundance.

Jesus said in John 10:10, “The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly.”

He didn’t come to control you into living a life you won’t be satisfied with. HE is the key TO a satisfying life.

He can give you the abundant life.

That if you confess with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. Romans 10:9
