Stepping Into God's Miracles

Oct 7, 2026

Have you ever experienced a miracle?

Sometimes we miss out on the miracles God wants to do in our lives because we’re waiting for all the answers before we’re willing to take a step of faith. We want to see the whole picture. We want to know exactly where God is leading, how everything will work out, and what happens next.

But that’s not faith.

Faith means trusting God enough to take the next step even when you can’t see the whole path.

You may not have all the pieces of the puzzle before you step out. In fact, that’s exactly why it’s called faith.

In Mark 8, we see a powerful example of this through a blind man who encountered Jesus:

“When they arrived at Bethsaida, some people brought a blind man to Jesus, and they begged him to touch the man and heal him. Jesus took the blind man by the hand and led him out of the village.” — Mark 8:22-23

There are three things in this story that can teach us what it looks like to position our lives for God to work.

1. Miracles happen when somebody cares.

Notice the words “brought” and “begged.” This man was blind. He couldn't simply walk up to Jesus on his own. Someone had to bring him. And someone cared enough to believe that Jesus could make a difference in his life. That’s a picture of intercession—bringing someone to Jesus on their behalf.

Who in your life needs you to do that? Who in your neighborhood needs prayer? Who at work is struggling? Who in your family needs hope? Who is hurting but doesn’t know where to turn?

Sometimes God wants to work in someone’s life, and He invites you to be the person who brings them to Jesus.

Caring people bring hurting people to Christ.

2. Miracles happen when we get close to Jesus.

The people didn’t just bring the blind man somewhere. They brought him to Jesus. They believed that getting him close to Jesus could change everything. And that’s still true for us.

Real transformation doesn't come from becoming more religious. It doesn't come from rituals, rules, or checking the right boxes. Transformation comes through a relationship with Jesus.

Jesus never treated people like projects or performed miracles simply to impress a crowd. He met people personally, right in the middle of their need.

The closer we get to Jesus, the more we discover His power, His character, His love, and His ability to work in places where we cannot.

So if you need God to move in your life, don't run from Him. Run toward Him.

3. Miracles happen when we trust Jesus to lead us.

The next thing we see is incredibly personal: “Jesus took him by the hand and led him outside the village.”

The blind man couldn't see where Jesus was taking him. He didn't know what Jesus was about to do. He didn't know how long it would take. He simply followed. That’s faith.

There may be a season in your life right now when you feel exactly like that man.

You might be thinking, “I don't know what God is doing. I don't know where He's taking me. I don't know how this is going to work out. I don't even know how long this is going to take.”

But you don't need all the answers. You just need to hold on to Jesus and take the next step.

When God calls you to do something that feels uncomfortable, take the step. When He asks you to forgive when you don't feel like forgiving, take the step. When He asks you to be generous when the numbers don't seem to make sense, take the step. When He asks you to serve, to trust, to change direction, to have a difficult conversation, or to follow Him into something unfamiliar—take the step.

You don't have to see the whole road. You just have to trust the One who can.

The blind man couldn't see where Jesus was leading him, but Jesus could see exactly where they were going.

So, care enough to bring someone to Jesus. Get close enough to Jesus to know Him. And trust Him enough to follow when you can't see what's ahead.

You may not have all the pieces. You may not understand the full plan. You may not know what happens next. But you can take the next step.
