Waiting on God

The Bible makes it clear that life is made up of different seasons. And, one season that God brings up again and again is the season of waiting. Probably, because we are going to go through seasons of waiting… again and again in this life.

Waiting for answers. Waiting for answered prayers. Waiting for health results. Waiting on a promotion or a new job. Waiting for direction. Waiting for a miracle.

Waiting can feel frustrating, but you can trust that while you're waiting, God is working. Even if you can’t perceive HOW he is working. A season of waiting doesn't mean God has stopped moving.

The truth is, you'll spend much of your life waiting. God is never in a hurry, is he? He definitely doesn’t operate the timeline WE think he should. But, through the seasons of waiting, God is teaching you to depend on Him.

Maybe you've found yourself asking, "When, Lord? When is this going to happen?" And perhaps God is gently reminding you, "Trust Me."

Our culture says, "Don't wait. Get what you want as quickly as possible." But God's way is different. Many of His greatest blessings are shaped through seasons of waiting.

As Ecclesiastes 3:11 reminds us, "He has made everything beautiful in its time."

Maybe you're waiting for school to end, the right relationship, a marriage, a child, a new job, healing, or direction for the future. Whatever you're waiting on, you're not alone. We've all been there.

Isaiah 60:22 gives us this incredible promise: "I am the LORD, and when it is time, I will make these things happen quickly" (NCV).

That's how God worked when He sent Jesus into the world. People waited thousands of years for the Messiah, and He came at exactly the right moment. Today, we've been waiting nearly 2,000 years for Jesus to return. When will He come? At exactly the right time—God's time.

The same is true in your life. A delay is not a denial. What feels like "no" may simply be God's "not yet." (And, by the way, let me jusy pause and say that getting a, “no” from God can be a huge blessing and answer to prayer).

Micah 7:7 says, "I trust the LORD God to save me, and I will wait for him to answer my prayer" (CEV).

The question is, will you continue to trust Him while you wait?

That's the kind of faith God is looking for in us.
