When You Worship, You Remember God's Goodness

Oct 15, 2026

“For the LORD is good. His unfailing love continues forever, and his faithfulness continues to each generation.” — Psalm 100:5 (NLT)

Many of us have heard the saying, “God is Good… all the time… and all the time… God is Good.”

Do you truly believe God is good all the time? It’s easy to say you do when life is going well. But when you’re hurting, facing conflict, or walking through a difficult season, believing in God’s goodness can be much harder.

When you’re depressed, you may wonder if God’s goodness is for everyone but you. When you’re worried or overwhelmed, your circumstances can consume your thoughts until you can barely see the evidence of his goodness right in front of you. In those moments, it’s easy to focus so much on what’s going wrong that you lose sight of who God is.

So how can you trust in God’s goodness when you don’t feel it?

You remind yourself of what is true. The Bible repeatedly assures us of God’s character, love, and faithfulness. Psalm 100:5 says, “For the LORD is good. His unfailing love continues forever, and his faithfulness continues to each generation” (NLT).

God’s goodness doesn’t depend on your circumstances or your feelings. Even when life is painful and you can’t understand what God is doing, his character remains unchanged. His love hasn’t run out, and his faithfulness hasn’t failed.

Remembering God’s goodness gives you a different perspective on your darkest days. It doesn’t mean you ignore your pain or pretend your problems don’t exist. It means you recognize that your circumstances aren’t the whole story. You can face what’s difficult while holding on to the truth that God is still good.

So, how do you move from simply knowing about God’s goodness to actually experiencing it?

One way is through worship. Worship helps you turn your attention toward God, rather than yourself or your circumstances. When you praise him for who he is, thank him for his faithfulness, and remember his promises, your perspective begins to shift.

Worship reminds you that God is greater than what you’re facing. It creates space for gratitude in the middle of uncertainty and helps you remember that you are loved, cared for, and never beyond the reach of his faithfulness.

When you make worship a regular part of your life, you train your heart to remember God’s goodness.

Because, God is good, all the time. His love never fails, and his faithfulness continues through every generation.
