You Are Not Alone (Even When You Feel Like It)

April 29, 2026

You were created for relationships.

You were made for connection.

You were never meant to do life alone.

We are better together. We say that all the time here at Seminole Church, and it’s not just a corny saying. It’s the truth.

But when loneliness hits, something strange happens. Instead of moving toward people, we often pull away. We isolate. We withdraw. We tell ourselves it’s easier that way.

And yet—that’s the exact opposite of what we need. Because isolation is where loneliness grows strongest.

In fact, the enemy wants you isolated. He wants to convince you to pull back, to disconnect, to stop reaching out. He doesn’t want you around people who will encourage you, support you, and point you back to truth. And he definitely doesn’t want you to recognize that even in your loneliest moments… God is still with you.

So where is God when you feel lonely? He’s right there. There is no place you can go where God is not present. You may not always feel Him—but He is there.

The apostle Paul wrote: “But the Lord stood with me and gave me strength.” (2 Timothy 4:17)

Think about that. Paul was sitting in a dark Roman prison. Near the end of his life. Feeling abandoned by friends. Completely alone by human standards.

And yet he says, “The Lord stood with me.”

Not far away.

Not distant.

Right there.

Jesus made this promise: “I will never leave you nor forsake you.”

That means in your quiet moments… your empty house… your hardest days… God is present.

Sometimes the first step out of loneliness is simply opening your eyes and saying, “God, You’re here with me.”
